A Brief History of Spring Ho

The Spring Ho Festival started in 1972 as a simple celebration of Lampasas' rich history and natural springs. What began as a small local event has now grown into a grand festival that attracts thousands of attendees each year. The name "Spring Ho" perfectly captures the spirit of celebration (and possibly the local enthusiasm for jumping into spring water whenever possible). Over the years, this festival has evolved to include a dizzying array of activities that highlight the unique charm and community spirit of Lampasas. It's basically Lampasas' way of saying, "Hey, we’re awesome, and we know how to throw a party!"

Spring Ho: A Celebration That Defines Us

Spring Ho is more than just a festival; it's a cornerstone of Lampasas culture. It brings together residents and visitors to celebrate local heritage and create lasting memories. The festival showcases the town's artistic talents, historical reenactments, and culinary delights, making it a significant cultural event that reflects the heart and soul of Lampasas. Not to mention, it provides the perfect excuse to eat funnel cakes for breakfast without judgment. Seriously, it’s a thing. Look it up.

The festival also boosts the local economy by attracting tourists and engaging local businesses. It supports local vendors, artisans, and performers, giving them a platform to shine (and a reason to come out of hibernation from the winter months). Plus, it's a great way for community organizations to raise funds and awareness for various causes. So, not only are you having fun, but you're also doing good. It's a win-win!
